Joy in July

Wow! It's hard to believe that March was my last blog post! SO much has happened in the past few months!

I finished a fabulous semester at Shenandoah--PhD students in my portfolio class and an amazing group in my Master's class on Assessments and Outcomes. I do love teaching!

Saw some amazing shows at the Hippodrome in Baltimore, helped organize a new program called DemsHelp-sharing resources with those who have been affected by current budget cuts and policy changes, organizing with the Frederick group, Rise Up Frederick-we have had some amazing local rallies and protests.

My non-profit, Another Day, has been busy organizing new programs to help those re-entering our communities after incarceration and those who are working through recovery:  Sisters in Success had its inaugural event July 18, an incredibly supportive gathering of women of all walks of life. I'm excited about the future of this newly forming group. The Second Chances Leadership Academy is taking shape and we are hoping to bring together our first cohort in September.

I had the opportunity to travel in May to Atlanta and spend some well-needed time with my daughter and her family. Family is everything. In June I spent 10 days in Montana and Alberta, Canada. Visited Glacier National Park, spent a few days in Calgary for the Rotary International Convention, and then a few days in the beautiful area of Banff. Spending time with longtime friends and new friends was spectacular!

Hosted a fantastic 4th of July party. Spending time with friends is so very special! That holiday was almost immediately followed by an amazing trip to the Riviera Maya for family time!

I continue to spend time with my critters on "the farm!" My equines, canines, felines, and alpacas bring me such joy!

Reconnecting with friends, spending time with loved ones, the past few months have been glorious!
