OCTOBER! And my favorite holiday! I love Halloween, but more on that in a bit.

October of 2025 was rather busy for this old woman! Lots of Ravens football with my son, a coffee afternoon with my nephew-how wonderful it was to catch up with him! An amazing Candlelight concert of Vivaldi music in downtown Frederick-the meal before, the socializing with friends, the music, and the post concert beverages were all fantabulous!

The following Saturday, I was elated to have been part of Frederick's No Kings Day Rally. Estimates are that somewhere between 5000 and 6000 true patriots were in attendance. The energy was palpable and the speakers were dynamic. I was honored to lead a moment of silence in memory of my friend, Sue Hecht. Sue was a leader and activist in Frederick for years. Her spirit was with us, though, on rally day! The Frederick rally was even featured on the Rachel Maddow show! Sue would have been proud!

I celebrated 10 years of being a breast cancer survivor! And so enjoyed helping to organize and attend the Hurwitz Foundation Breast Cancer gala! I even came home with a painting from the silent auction!

And then Halloween! Spending time with my grandson and laughing at our costumes! Attending parties at a local brewery and at a dear friend's house. Seeing children and adults dressed up! The pictures of my teenage granddaughter trick or treating with her friends just warmed my heart! I just adore celebrating the spooky day!

November is off to a great start-Election Day was a clear sign that those hoping to save democracy are empowered. Victories in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California and in Frederick give me hope. The work is not done, but democracy is most certainly not dead. The evening of Election Day as votes were being tabulated, I was able to spend the evening with a friend dining at an Irish Pub on the Wharf in downtown DC, followed by a brilliant production of Damn Yankees! The cast was fantastic and I just adore the story and the music.

And in just a few days, I will be 65 years old...a Medicare senior citizen!
