Welcome!
Welcome to my new blog!
After being permanently suspended from META social media platforms, many folks reached out to me about how to stay connected. I read articles that suggested personal websites, and other independent formats. I decided to add this blog to my new webpage. My webpage highlights my work with education, organizational leadership, performing wedding ceremonies, and my work with folks re-entering society and looking to move forward. www.loisjarman.com
But it will also host a link to this blog so you can catch up on my weekly/monthly "exciting" or not activities!
So the week of January 20, I have been watching movies, not the inauguration of the 47th. My friends know how I feel about agent orange. I have been sharing updates on authentic news on BlueSky as our legacy media outlets are not covering much that is negative about the new king. You can follow me there at @lojarman.bsky.social and I am also on LinkedIn.
I will continue the spring semester teaching in the graduate school of Organizational Leadership at Shenandoah, as well as my work with local non-profit organizations. I was able to travel not once, but twice, to Atlanta this month to visit my girls and the son-in-law. First visit was a belated Christmas and second was a celebration of my daughter's 42nd birthday (she's now officially my younger sister!) Of course, the month would not have been complete without some visits to local wineries! My fav! And I was able to accompany my dear little grandson on his first outing to Chuck E Cheese! We had a blast!
Saw Wicked twice at the cinema! Once with a dear friend from theater days in Frederick, and the second time with my girls in Alpharetta. I cannot recommend it enough and I cannot wait for Part deux! Speaking of Oz! I am terribly excited about a collaboration project with ACT Theater of Hagerstown and Hidden Hills Winery of New Market. My dear "nephew" from our December production of A Christmas Carol-where I played Ebby Nezer Scrooge-is writing a script for something like a Drunk Oz! We're hoping to bring that to "the stage" in June-I will keep you posted! And speaking of Scrooge-I was nominated by ACT for best actress in a play! I was thrilled.
Looking forward to my two weeks in France in March. It will be wonderful to spend some quality time with my adopted French family...and of course, the food will be fantastic-not to mention the wine!
I have loved seeing the snow this month! Even the shoveling hasn't been bad! The horses are blanketed and the alpacas have their very deep, thick fiber to keep them warm. All is well at the Jarman ranch.
I love having all of you in my life. Thanks for reading and stay in touch!
Great to read you dearest Lois. Love how you always find the joy despite life’s challenges. Lots of love. Jo
